I recently made these cute little books for Baby J. They have been a pretty big hit with him. I made two different sensory books. One was a book to explore different textures and materials, the other sensory book is to explore different colors.
These sensory books are super easy to make, and you probably have many of the supplies you need already in your home.
Here’s what you’ll need to make some adorable sensory books for your child to explore:
DIY Sensory Books for Babies and Toddlers
Color Sensory Book
Supplies Needed:
You can also use these awesome Peel & Stick Foam Sheets that I recently came across! So much easier than tape or glue
tape or glue
Here’s how I made the color sensory book. It was pretty easy, and you can get creative with this part…
1. First, I used a thick black marker to draw corresponding little pictures for each color of foam I had (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white).
2. Then, I cut the pictures out and taped them onto the matching foam sheets.
3. Next, I used the binder rings to attach the foam sheets into a book.
4. Finally, I let Baby J explore the new color sensory book! π
Textures Sensory Book
Supplies Needed:
Assorted materials with different and interesting textures. For example, I used buttons, beads, cotton, aluminum foil, and bubble wrap.
To make this book I just hot glued the textured materials into the pre-bound book and that’s it! So easy!
Baby J really liked this one!!
PLEASE remember, some of the smaller items that I used are obvious choking hazards. Please make sure that everything is glued down REALLY well!

Hi Joanne, <br />Thank you for stopping by! I used buttons, beads, cotton, aluminum foil, and bubble wrap. Hope that helps π
Where did you get the pattern for the texture sensory book? Very cute!
Both of my daughters loved these books when they were little babies. If I ever have another child, I will make as many of these as I can think of. Thanks for sharing!
