We are always looking for exciting new activities to keep Little J learning new things and entertained at the same time, too. While in Target (where else?!) the other day, I found these great fall themed foam cutouts. I grabbed some clear contact paper and set this up for Little J when I got home.
Little J thought this was a fun activity. He had fun sticking the leaves, pumpkins, and apple shapes to the contact paper…and then he had fun ripping them all off, too. As with most things these days, he tried to bite the foam and also tried to feed them to the dogs. Success? I think so 🙂
Our sticky tree wasn’t really amazing when we were done because Little J took all of the foam pieces off, but for older kids this would be really cute to hang up your finished product in the window when you’re finished creating a masterpiece! The light will shine through the clear contact paper, and it will look really pretty as Fall decor in your home.
Little J enjoys painting. I thought it might be fun to take one of the foam pumpkins from the sticky tree activity and have him stamp with it.
I attached a wine cork to the back of the pumpkin as a little handle and let him go to town with the stamp dipped into the orange paint. He of course had paint in his mouth within 2 minutes, but it was fun anyway to watch him stamp with the paint. He thought it was fun, too 🙂
You could easily turn the final stamp painting into Halloween decor or a Halloween card from your child.
Have fun creating! As always, thanks for reading!
