Fall is in the air! Today Little J and I decided to do some painting. We made an adorable Fall leaf craft that is perfect to hang and decorate our home with.
This craft was so much fun to make! Little J got so excited to paint!
He was covered with paint everywhere…so much that he needed a serious bath after we were done painting. Never a dull moment ๐
Fall Leaf Craft – Finger Painted, Kid Made Leaf Garland
ย Here’s what you’ll need to make this adorable Fall Leaf Garland (or Bunting):
Supplies needed to make this:
– Leaf cut outs (I bought ours at Michael’s Arts & Crafts)
–ย twine
– a kid who loves to paint!
First, I set the leaf cut outs on plain white paper in front of Little J, along with some kid-friendly finger paints.
He got started right away, and had a blast! He painted and we even added some glue and feathers for a fun festive look.
After Little J painted a bunch of plain white leaf shaped paper cut outs, we left them to dry over night.
Once they were totally dry, I attached them to some twine with mini clothes pins.
The finished product looks so cute hanging near the dining room table…perfect for Thanksgiving dinner! ๐
ย My mom actually ended up keeping this garland at her home, and I’m so glad we have this finger painted treasure to show Little J each year. I think we will definitely be making this again!
I Love this! My grandson painted some fall leaves just like this. We used coffee filters. He had so much fun. I was thinking of writing on each leaf something we're all thankful for then gluing ribbon to the back and hanging it from the wall but the way you did it is so nice I might switch ๐ I also wanted to laminate each one. Thanks for sharing this! Found this on Pinterest btw.
Thanks, Yolanda! I like the idea of writing on them, too! Thanks for stopping by ๐
Oh my goodness, looks like you had GREAT fun!! So sweet! Love the craft.
Thank you, RedTedArt! ๐
