Lately we have been doing more crafts and activities than focusing on tot school, per se. However, we are still keeping up with learning about colors.
This was a fun way to learn about the color yellow that Little J did recently. I picked up some fresh flowers and set everything up for him to paint.
He actually enjoyed painting with the flowers. He thought it was fun. He dipped the flowers in the paint, and swished them around the canvas. Very different than a paint brush or his fingers! He also learned that he could make prints with the flower petals, which was quite amusing to him 🙂
The finished painting came out so cute! He was really proud of his work, and it was adorable to hear him saying “yewwow”! Mommy may have helped a little bit with the painting, too 🙂
What other unconventional materials have you painted with or want to try? We would love to know, please leave a comment below.

I haven't done it but my friend used a giant disposable dish and put the paper in the bottom and then covered marbles with paint and you let your child hold the container in the air and move it all around so that the marbles paint the paper. I hope that made sense!!
Stephanie, yes makes sense! Sounds like fun!! I want to give it a try 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
