I’m excited to be a part of a new series called “12 Months of Sensory Dough”, which will bring a new play dough recipe and activity to you on the 12th of every month in 2014. How much fun is that?!
This month is Foam Dough, which is very simple.
For this very easy Foam Dough play dough, you will need:
So, this play dough is NOT an exact science. I dumped about 2 cups of cornstarch into my bowl, then squirted about the same amount of shaving cream into the bowl, on top of the shaving cream. I also squeezed a few drops of gel food coloring on top, and mixed it up with my hands. I did need to add a little more shaving cream, but once it starts to form a cohesive ball, that’s when it’s ready! Just try to not squish it too hard while mixing, so it doesn’t lose it’s fluffy foamy quality 🙂
I have to admit, I was excited to let Little J try this foam dough out. We had just finished playing with some of our Neon Play Clay and I thought he would enjoy playing with another type of play dough, too.
This was SO not the case. He touched it. Picked it up, threw it on the floor, looked at me and said “no.” Ah, 17 month olds. The best critics in the world. So, needless to say the fun activity I had planned to go along with our Foam Dough went out the window. I do intend to try this Foam Dough with him again.

If you have read my play dough posts before, I always am hesitant to see his reaction to a new play dough, as he is pretty picky about which ones he likes. Hopefully Cloud Dough goes over better next month! Stay tuned 🙂
Please stop by my co-hosts for this series to find out if their Foam Dough was a success or failure (like mine lol)
