The Christmas season is so magical and beautiful, both for kids and adults.
My boys are (almost) 29 months old and 15 months old, and becoming much more aware of the different seasons and traditions that we celebrate. They are infatuated with our Christmas Tree. They love how it looks, feels, and glows with the lights on. I had to cut a few low hanging branches off of the tree, and the kids wanted to play with those.
Making this sensory bottle was a super fun way to let the Christmas season last a little longer, and allow the kids to explore nature in a different way. Not to mention, it was very easy to make, too.
Tree Sensory Bottles for Kids

SUPPLIES
– Clear plastic bottle with lid
– green food coloring
– water
– glitter
– tree branches
DIRECTIONS
I took an empty Smart Water bottle, which has a great unique shape perfect for sensory bottles, and stuck one of the extra Christmas Tree branches inside of it.
Then, I filled the empty bottle up with water and added a few drops of green food coloring and a generous sprinkle of gold glitter, before closing the lid tight and hot gluing it closed.
The kids LOVED this sensory bottle!
They shook up the sensory bottle to watch the glitter fall (almost like a big snow globe!).
The glitter moved around in every direction and the pine tree branch floated around slowly in the water.
This was even fun to look at as an adult. Totally a win!
We will definitely be making more sensory bottles with different materials inside of them to explore.

What a clever way to divert the childrens' attention away from the tree and possibly hurting themselves. I guess with young ones that close in age (my daughter has the same) you have to think quick and always be a step ahead.
