This past week has been one filled with big changes for our family. We moved to a new home locally, and it has been quite an epic production. For those of you who have packed up and moved to new homes, with your children, spouses, and pets – you know what I’m talking about!
Packing up a house full of stuff for two adults, two kids, and two very large dogs is not the most fun thing I’ve ever done, to say the least. However, I am truly thankful and super happy to be in our new home. Although, glad the actual moving part is over.
When you can’t locate your dishes, pots, pans, and utensils because they’re boxed up, it’s hard to cook meals in your new kitchen. You know what’s not hard though? Making a green juice smoothie!
I’ve been a smoothie lover for a while. They’re such an easy way to quickly get real, whole nutrients. I lost nearly 100 pounds after having my youngest son, so it’s important to me to stay on track with my health even when life is hectic. Especially when life is hectic.
Here’s my green smoothie recipe…
…that you can try at home so you can quickly drink your delicious and nutritious intake of whole foods…and still have time to quickly pack your kid’s lunch boxes without being late for school drop off!
INGREDIENTS:
– 1 cup spinach
– 1 frozen banana
– 1/2 cup pineapple
– 1 cup almond milk
– 1 scoop Vega Essentials Shake in Vanilla flavor
DIRECTIONS
1. Measure out all ingredients for the green smoothie. Cut up banana and pineapple and place into your blender. I used my Magic Bullet Blender to make this smoothie recipe. All of the ingredients (listed above) for one smoothie fit perfectly into one of the blender cups.
2. Add in the Vega Essentials Shake powder and almond milk last to allow the blender blades to easily spin around in the liquid.
3. Blend until your green smoothie is a lovely shade of green and totally smooth.
4. DRINK & ENJOY! Yum!
This green smoothie recipe is yummy, creamy, dreamy tropical treat!
It’s also very convenient to take on-the-go with you. I poured mine directly into a to-go tumbler cup and headed out the door this morning to enjoy my green smoothie as a drove the boys to school.
I prefer to use Vega Essentials Shake in my smoothie recipes because it’s gluten-free, vegan, and made with no added sugar, dairy, or soy ingredients, artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners. Basically, it’s all good stuff in there, which is important to me to maintain my healthy lifestyle.
It also has 20 grams of plant-based protein and lots of food-based vitamins and minerals, plus fiber and Omega-3s (and a partridge in a pear tree?!) Seriously, though, it’s pretty awesome how many healthy ingredients can you pack into a smoothie using a scoop of Vega Essentials Shake!
Saving money while shopping at Target is something that makes me very happy, and I have great news for you…
Below I’ve conveniently included a Target coupon for you to save $5 through 10/11/15 on Vega Essentials at Target. Woohoo!
Print that baby out and head over to Tar-jay to pick up some for yourself so you can whip up your next green smoothie ASAP!
