Oh, boy. This holiday season has really thrown my body for a loop (hello, cookie exchange party?!)
It left me in serious need of a detox diet and cleanse. So, I went to the grocery store the day after Christmas to stock up on a ton of fresh veggies and clean, healthy foods. When I came home, I made this cleansing soup that is the perfect way to kick start a detox diet.
This soup came out so good. I was kind of skeptical about putting all of these veggies and spices together, since I wouldn’t normally purposely try to eat these flavor combinations. However, it was great. I’m starting to feel better, and more hydrated and well nourished. Even my husband loved this cleansing soup, and asked for the leftovers!
This soup is jam-packed with fresh ingredients to help aid in the detoxification process. Back when I lost nearly 100 pounds (you can read my journey here), my diet was super clean and filled with so many naturally good foods. This season his really side-tracked me, but I am human after all. So, this soup detox recipe is like a natural remedy to help detoxify my system. Pretty much my way of apologizing to my body after the holidays!
This cleansing soup recipe will also help to jump start your body to prepare for a weight loss diet. (Remember, I am NOT a doctor, just a blogger! Be sure to check with your doctor before beginning any weight loss program or detox diet program.)
Are you ready to feed your body lots of delicious detoxifying nutrients with this soup cleanse recipe?
Here’s what you’ll need to make it…
(As a side note, it was important to me to use organic ingredients to make this soup, since this was designed to be a detox diet recipe.)

Yes, I too am wondering about how long and for how many meals you’re supposed to do this. Sounds delish though!!
