It’s officially the New Year, and you’re probably being bombarded with everyone’s New Year’s resolutions on social media: people who are starting a new weight loss plan (you may be one of them!), friends who want to be kinder, others who want to travel more, and the list goes on!
If you ARE one of the many who vowed to get into better shape this year, or shed those extra few pounds – CONGRATS! That’s awesome! It wasn’t long ago that I embarked on my own weight loss journey to shed all of the weight I gained throughout my pregnancies. I ended up losing nearly 100 pounds in 9 months (you can read the whole story here and also grab a copy of my new weight loss eBook here).
Taking the very first step in staring a new weight loss plan is often the hardest step to take. So, today I want to share with you a few tips to help get you heading in the right direction.
Tips for Starting a New Weight Loss Plan
- First things first – clear out your fridge and pantry of all unhealthy food. Don’t eat it (haha), just throw it away. Then, replace it with healthy, clean choices such as: fresh fruit and veggies, lean protein, and some complex carbs. I often like to give my body a kick start with a super healthy detox like this detoxifying soup recipe I recently made.
2. In addition to healthy food, don’t forget to stock up on WATER! Staying hydrated is essential to be ready to properly take on a new weight loss plan and workout routine!
3. Get some new gear – Gorgeous new sneakers are a huge motivator for me! I love new shoes, and I usually can’t wait to hit the gym in them and break them in. Another thing I like to do to get myself pumped up about a new weight loss plan is buying some cute new workout clothes. I recently signed up to receive a Wantable Fitness edit, where I’ll receive new fitness gear to try on in the comfort of my own home. I can then decide what I want to keep and what I want to send back. It’s kind of like Stitch Fix for fitness clothing…and I’m prettyyyyyyy obsessed with my Stitch Fix boxes, so I’m hoping Wantable goes the same!
4. If you’re a mom, like me, you may have noticed that drinking a ton of water and starting new workout routines may cause you to have slight LBL (light bladder leakage). I can’t even lie, there’s definitely been some close calls for me at the gym!! So, to be confident and sure that you can take on your workouts, protect your new gym clothes with Poise Liners.
I conveniently picked up a box of Poise Liners this weekend at my local Sam’s Club! They had such a great deal on these!
Now, with my new gym clothes, new liners, and healthy food stocked in my fridge, I’m ready to get back on track with my new weight loss plan, workout routine, and New Year’s resolutions!
Happy New Year, everyone! Best of luck in succeeding with your personal goals this year!
