Thank you to Gerber for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring me to share the moments that make it all worth it.
I first became a mother on August 9th, 2011 to the most beautiful little boy I’d ever laid eyes on. Motherhood had very bittersweet welcome for me, though. Max was stillborn, and did not come home with us from the hospital. I was a mother but with empty arms. A mother with no child. No one to take care of except myself. I had to find the will to survive after my own child did not.
My Rocky Road to Motherhood – It’s All Worth It

Babies Close in Age – 13.5 Months Apart
I can’t tell you that raising children only 13.5 months apart has been a breeze. Despite wanting to have kids very badly, there have been days that make me want to run for the hills or a deserted island. Most days, though, it’s an absolute dream come true. Watching my kids grow up together, laugh together, play together, and have a built-in-best friend, has been something that I wouldn’t trade for the world.
The day-to-day in our home is definitely interesting with kids so close in age. They want to do everything that the other kid is doing and they MUST have whatever the other one has. Having “Irish twins” has it’s own interesting set of characteristics and challenges. Everything that happens in our lives, and everything that has happened to get to this point and be able to be parents to these amazing little boys has absolutely ALL been worth it.
I love blogs that talk about real parenting. So many blogs make it seem super duper Pinterest shiny & easy or OMG SO HARD SEND COFFEE/can’t shower/waa waa. This was real and refreshing. Adding you to my bloglovin!
