The Dream Snow by Eric Carle is a wonderful children’s Christmas book. It tells the story of an old farmer who settles down for a winter’s nap. When he awakens his farm is covered in snow, just in time for Christmas! He puts on his red suit, he goes outside and places gifts under the tree for his animals, bringing holiday cheer to all.
It is a book the my kids absolutely love! The tree at the end of the book is beautiful, and it was our inspiration for an adorable homemade, kid made christmas ornament! My kiddos had a blast creating this beautiful, rustic looking tree with me.
Kid Made Rustic Wreath Christmas Ornament – Inspired by The Dream Snow
To make these little wreath tree ornaments, these are the supplies we used:
SUPPLIES
– grapevine twigs of varying sizes
– mini ornaments or small pom poms
INSTRUCTIONS
First, we broke grapevine branches into smaller pieces and glued them into the center of the small grapevine wreath.
Next, we flipped the wreath over (to hide the dried glue from the glue gun), and started gluing on our mini ornaments and pom poms.
Lastly, we glued on the mini presents. This addition really made it look like the gift tree at the end of The Dream Snow!
When our ornaments were done we tied a string through the branches, and hung our masterpieces up on the Christmas tree!
My kids love how these rustic tree ornaments came out, and enjoyed making them this year!
