Staying in the right mindset while losing weight can be challenging. Stay on track with these Simple Ways to Stay Focused on Your Fitness Goals…
Being healthy and staying in shape are very important to me. After having my two sons I lost nearly 100 pounds in 9 months (you can read the full story here if you haven’t already). I am currently pregnant again, and my weight is of course on the upswing right now. But, I know that I have the tools to lose the baby weight AGAIN, and get back in the best shape of my life after I have our new baby.
Staying in the right mindset while losing weight can be challenging. Not to mention there’s tons of temptation to go off course. Hello, food, I’m talking to you! However, there are things that helped me stay on track while going through my extreme weight loss journey.
Here are some simple and effective tips to stay on track while losing weight:
Simple Ways to Stay Focused on Your Fitness Goals
Track Your Progress – Losing weight and getting into shape can be a daunting task. It’s hard to see just how far you’ve come unless you keep track of your progress. In my weight loss eBook I have a handy weight loss tracker sheet in there, which I used! I also loved to take pictures of my progress. I’d take a photo of myself every week to see the difference in my body. You can see some of my progress photos below, and more over in my weight loss blog post chronicling my journey.
Another amazing way to track your progress is with the Misfit Ray. It’s a super sleek and stylish fitness tracker that automatically tracks steps, distance, calories, and light and restful sleep! Amazing, right?!
What’s even more awesome is that it syncs with the Misfit App on your Smart Phone and allows you to set goals, compete with friends, log food and weight, and more! Misfit Ray also has vibration alerts for alarms, calls, texts, and movement reminders. All of that packed into one very minimal little package that never requires charging! Set Goals – In the beginning of your fitness journey set small and milestones that you can achieve easily, as well as larger goals that will take longer to achieve. This will help you mentally stay on track when you notice how you’re not only getting to your goals but surpassing them!
Reward Yourself – As you start crossing goals off your of checklist you should definitely treat yo’self as a reward for all of your hard work! Things like nice new running shoes, a cute new workout outfit, fun new water bottle, or a date night out on the town are wonderful ways to reward yourself and help you stay on track! For example, if it’s your goal to lose 2 pounds per week for the next month, and you do it, then get some new shoes! Maybe you want to exercise at least 3 times this week…if you do it then buy a new water bottle! Things like this will definitely help keep you in the right mindset for staying focused on your fitness goals!
