Our vacation to Universal Studios Cabana Bay Beach Resort was provided in exchange for sponsored content creation. As always, all opinions are my own.
Living in Orlando, FL has so many benefits. One of those is being super close to the local theme parks. Our family loves visiting the Orlando theme parks, but it had been a while since we went to Universal Studios. So, we were thrilled to get the chance to stay at Cabana Bay Beach Resort a few weeks ago! Our trip happened to fall on my mom’s birthday so it was the perfect way to celebrate.
Traveling with a large family (even for a staycation) isn’t always the easiest thing to do. However, Cabana Bay made our trip a smooth, seamless, and successful trip!
Check out all the fun we had at Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Universal Studios Florida, and Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Universal Studios Cabana Bay Beach Resort
One of the first things we loved about the resort was it’s vibrant, retro-style with rooms and family suites that are designed for family fun. One of the amenities that is a “must-have” for me when staying anywhere with my 3 boys is a kitchenette and fridge in the room. Can anyone else relate to their little kids needing a cold drink of water at night?? We were happy to find our family suite was appointed with a kitchenette with a mini refrigerator, microwave and sink.
The family suite was large enough to accommodate our family of six with two queen beds, and a pull out couch bed. There’s also a privacy partition to separate the living room from the sleeping area, which was awesome! When our kids fell asleep we could still watch tv and hang out without worrying about waking them up (yikes, no one wants to wake a sleeping child!)
The pools at Cabana Bay Beach Resort were the main attraction on the property for my kiddos! They could NOT wait to jump into the pool, slide down the water slides, and take a ride down the lazy river. In fact, it was nearly impossible to get them out of the water!
We also enjoyed many of the other on-property amenities including: Starbucks, Galaxy Bowl (yup, there’s an amazing bowling alley with restaurant inside of the hotel!!), Ace the Arcade, and Atomic Tonic™- a shaded bar and grill located on the Cabana Courtyard pool deck.
When we weren’t at our oh-so-amazing hotel we were funning-it-up at the theme parks. We had an absolute blast checking out everything there was to do at Universal Studios, City Walk™, and Islands of Adventure.
Universal Studios Orlando, Florida
One of the benefits of staying at a Universal resort is early park admission.
(Early Park Admission begins one hour prior to regular scheduled park opening to either Universal Studios Florida™ or Universal’s Islands of Adventure™ as determined by Universal Orlando and Universal’s Volcano Bay™.)
My kids had never been to a Universal park before, and they absolutely LOVED it!! We had an amazing time riding the rides, dancing in the streets with the Mardi Gras parade, and of course, visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™.
This was an incredible trip and we cannot wait to visit Universal again soon…and obviously stay at Cabana Bay Beach Resort when we go! My kids haven’t stopped talking about our trip so our next visit will definitely be in the very near future.
