Slowing Down for Summer to Live, Love, Eat

Summer is the season of slowing down a bit and savoring all that life has to offer: vacations, spectacular sunsets, spending time together with loved ones, and of course eating delicious food and snacks!

Our current favorite snack to enjoy together is FAGE Total Split Cup yogurt. I keep them stocked in my fridge for us to be able to grab and eat at a moments notice! It’s a snack I can feel good about giving to my family since they use only all-natural ingredients, and they’re non-GMO, too!

My oldest son brought home a “summer bucket list” paper from his teacher on the last day of school. He placed it on the fridge with a magnet and asked if we could do all 100 activities on the bucket list. It really got me thinking about how he was just SO excited to be able to spend time together and have fun all summer. I, of course, said “yes” – we can do all of the 100 things on his summer bucket list.

He just finished first grade, and I honestly cannot believe that we will only have 11 more summers together before he will go off to college. I mean, ideally I hope we have a lifetime of summers together. I hope he and his brothers will always want to vacation with me and my husband. I hope they will always want to return home and hang out with us, and I hope they will always want to spend time together as a family.

For these eleven summers I hope we have the chance to grow up together and not apart. I want us to go to Disney World more times than we can count (we are already at that point since we live close enough to see the Disney fireworks from our backyard!), ride all of the rides, and laugh until our cheeks hurt.

For the rest of our summers together I want us to seek out amazing adventures, and explore new places together. I want us to take tons of fun trips, whether they’re close to home or require a lengthy journey.

For the rest of our summers together I want us to enjoy the simple moments together. Savoring our meals together, and taking in all of the little moments that make up the big memories.

While we have these sweet days together under the same roof I want us to laugh, and giggle, and play, and run, and stay up late. I made a commitment for us to tackle all 100 items on the summer bucket list and we are definitely going to do it!

  1. Fage is great stuff. I keep these little snack cups in the fridge all the time. I also keep the bigger tubs on hand for using as a subsitute for sour cream. It’s tasty.

  2. I wish I lived that close to Disney World. We have only been to Disneyland but one day hope to venture to Florida. I also love Fage. My husband is a yogurt addict and Fage is his favorite so we always have it on hand.

  4. We don’t have Fage yogurt here in Canada (or at least not where I live) but I tried it in the US and it was SO good. I love those split cups – what a fun idea. Adds an extra little treat to the yogurt.

  8. I really enjoy this yogurt. There is just something about it that it is so creamy and light. The split cups are definitely something we need to try.
