Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Raising three small boys means hearing “I’m hungry” a LOT. I feel like we are constantly on the hunt for simple and delicious meals that can be whipped up quickly. In between driving to-and-from school, homework, and sports it’s not always easy to provide good food that everyone will love, and make it fast!
One thing that is always a hit in our home is grilled cheese. The boys love grilled cheese sandwiches and they’d probably eat it everyday if I let them. I love taking old classics and putting a new spin on them. So, I made these simple ham and grilled cheese sandwiches recently, but added in Smithfield® Anytime Favorites® Diced Ham instead of ham slices. The kids love how delicious and fun these sandwiches are! Plus, these sandwiches can be made super fast! So, no matter how busy our day is, we can eat something warm and yummy!

Here’s what you’ll need to make the yummiest Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwiches ever!
INGREDIENTS
- white bread
- butter or olive oil
- sliced American cheese or Cheddar cheese
- Smithfield® Anytime Favorites Diced Ham
DIRECTIONS
These sandwiches are amazingly flavorful and extremely simple to make! First, heat up 1tbsp butter or olive oil in a frying pan.
Next, add in one slice of white bread. Layer the cheese slices on top.
Then, add on a handful of Smithfield Anytime Favorites Diced Ham. Put one more slice of cheese on top, and finish with a slice of white bread on top of that.
Allow the sandwich to heat up in the frying pan so that the cheese melts (about 1-2 minutes), then FLIP! Grill on the other side for another 1-2 minutes to get a nice golden brown color on each side of the bread.
Cut into squares. Serve, and enjoy…and repeat!
